Weddings, Renewals and Committments Timothy and Tori Timothy Stricker and Tori Millikan of Archdale, North Carolina, were married Saturday evening, May 6, 2006 on the lagoon beach at Hawk's Cay Resort in the Middle Florida Keys. The day had been hot, but there was a breeze by the water, and the late afternoon turned perfect as Tim and Tori, witnessed by family and friends, exchanged their wedding vows. Their ceremony and vows, written by Tim and Tori, is below. We wish them all the happiness in the world. We are gathered here to celebrate one of lifes greatest moments, to give recognition to the worth and beauty of love, and to add our best wishes to the words which shall unite Tim and Tori in marriage. Tim and Tori: Life is given to each of us as individuals, and yet we must learn to live together. Love is given to us by our family or by our friends. We learn to love by being loved. Learning to love and living together is one of the greatest challenges of life- and is the shared goal of a married life. I ask you now, in the presence of God and these people, to declare your intention to enter into union with one another through the grace of Jesus Christ, who calls you into union with himself as acknowledged in your baptism. Tim, will you have Tori to be your wife, to live together in holy marriage? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and health, and forsaking all others, be faithful to her as long as you both shall live? Tim: I will. Tori, will you have Tim to be your husband, to live together in holy marriage? Will you love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others be faithful to him as long as you both shall live? Tori: I will. Will all of you, by Gods grace, do everything in your power to uphold and care for these two persons in their marriage? Family: We will. Vows I, Tim, take you, Tori, to be my wife, my partner in life and my one true love. I will cherish our union and love you more each day than I did the day before. In the presence of God, our family, and friends, I offer you my solemn vow to be your faithful partner. I will trust you and respect you, laugh with you and cry with you, loving you faithfully through the good times and bad, regardless of the obstacles we may face together. I promise to cherish and protect you, comfort and encourage you. I give you my hand, my heart, and my love from this day forward as long as we both shall live. I, Tori, take you, Tim, to be my husband, my partner in life and my one true love. I give you may hand, my heart, and my love from this day forward as long as we both shall live. Wedding rings are an outward and visible sign of an inward spiritual grace and the unbroken circle of love, signifying to all the union of this man and this woman in marriage. Tori, with free and unconstrained soul, I give you all I am and all I am to become. Take this ring, and with it my promise of faith, patience and love, for the rest of my life. Tim, with free and unconstrained soul, I give you all I am and all I am to become. Take this ring, and with it my promise of faith, patience and love, for the rest of my life. Tim and Tori: As the two of you come into this marriage, uniting you as husband and wife, and as you this day affirm your faith and love for one another, I would ask that you always remember to cherish each other as special and unique individuals, that you respect the thoughts, ideas and suggestions of one another. Be able to forgive, do not hold grudges, and live each day that you may share it together- as from this day forward you shall be each others home, comfort and refuge, your marriage strengthened by your love and respect for each other. You have just sealed your relationship by the giving and receiving of rings, and this covenant is a relationship pledge between two people who agree that they will commit themselves to one another throughout their lives. The most beautiful example of this partnership is the marriage relationship. You have committed here today to share the rest of your lives with each other. Today, this relationship is symbolized through the pouring of sand from these shells. One, representing you, Tim, and all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be, and the other representing you, Tori, and all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be. As the sand from these shells is poured into another container, the individual shells will exist but now the sand is joined together as one. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual shells, so will your marriage be. Prayer Dear Heavenly Father, our hearts are filled with great happiness on Tim and Toris wedding day, as they come before you pledging their hearts and lives to one another. Grant that they may ever be true and loving, living together in such a way as to never bring shame or heartbreak into their marriage. Temper their hearts with kindness and understanding, rid them of all pretense or jealousy. Help them to remember to be each others sweetheart, helpmate, best friend and guide, so that together they may meet the cares and problems of life bravely. And with the passage of time, may they find great contentment in the rich joy of senior companionship. May the home they are creating today truly be a place of love and harmony, where your spirit is always present. Bless this marriage we pray, and walk beside Tim and Tori throughout their lives together. We ask these things in Jesus name. Amen Now that Tim and Tori have given themselves to each other by solemn vows, with the joining of hands, and the giving and receiving of rings, I announce to you that they are husband and wife; In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Those whom God has joined together let no one put asunder. Amen Congratulations!!!!! You may kiss the bride. It is my privilege to present to you Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Stricker. |
