Authors Guesthouse is located in the Old Town district of Key West, near the Historic Seaport. The property features bougainvillea and a flowering orchid tree, and is soothed at night by lighted stained glass in garden and pool areas. Wooden walkways lead to a red brick patio and pool.

Authors Guesthouse has dedicated each of its smoke-free accommodations to a specific author who made Key West a full or part time home. Each room, with its individual decor and direct outside entrance, contains works and artifacts of the author for whom it is named.

The compound consists of two small cottages, designed in a familiar Bahamian Conch style, which were originally the living quarters of cigar makers, who enjoyed a thriving business in Key West during the early 1900's. The main house is a large masonry structure with many windows, french doors, decks and terraces.

Common to all rooms are the amenities of queen-size beds, air conditioning, Bahama fans, private bath with shower, telephones, cable televisions and refrigerators. Some rooms have microwave ovens.

Rates: $80-135 depending on room choice and season.

Assets: Lovely accommodations with great rates within a short walk from Key West Harbor and down town old town Key West.

Fine Print: Check-in time begins at 2:00pm. Check-out is by 11:00am. Breakfast is served outdoors 8:30-10:00am. Pets are not allowed, but children are welcome, and kids under 12 stay free. Smoking is prohibited in guest rooms, but ashtrays are provided for outdoor smoking. 14 days notification of cancellation prior to arrival must be given to receive a deposit refund less a $30 fee.Cancellations made within 14 days forfeit the entire deposit. Holidays and Special Events cancellations require a 30 day notification. Authors is not a Spring Break Facility.
