Weddings, Renewals and Commitments

Gavin and Fidgi Alfred

Congratulations to Gavin Edward Alfred and Fidji Kettly Durosel of Homestead, Florida, who were married February 18, 2007, on Sombrero Beach in Marathon in the Middle Florida Keys. 

What we had planned was a romantic sunset ceremony on the beach accompanied by warm tropic breezes and clear blue skies. What we experienced was a stiffening northwesterly wind blowing in icy wet from the Gulf on the coldest day in the Keys in recent memory. We thought any moment it might snow.

In spite of the cold bite of the wind, the moment was one of warmth and affection as Gavin and Fidji exchanged their vows, accompanied by Fidji's cousin Rene. We hope that bad weather on their wedding day will be the very worst that befalls them, and that Gavin and Fidji are blessed with a long and happy life together, filled with warm sunsets and happy and loving moments.
